This story starts off as a series we have many illustrations that fall into the topic of story within a story and this is part one!

Funny thing is th at I was acctually inspired by a similar image that I viewed on pintrest! However, this made us try new techniques and trying to create an illustration that portrays two stories in one!

Let’s begin with the meanings behind the three images.

1. The Pine tree :The pine tree is known as the sōng she. It represents longevity, virtue, and solitude. Along with the plum and bamboo tree, is considered one of the ” Three friends of winter”. These “three friends” are three friends that stay ever green during the winter and in case the plum tree blossom during the winter.

2. The mountain :Throughout history, mountains have symbolized constancy, eternity, firmness and stillness.

3.The Bear : This animal has been worshiped throughout time as a powerful totem, inspiring those who need it the courage to stand up against adversity.

Now let’s join them together, the illustration represents this bear who is know to be courageous and stand up to adversity which represets us as people and some of the qualities that we should have.

Then the mountain is represented by contancy, firmness and eternity which represents everything around us.

Then comes the Pine tree, which I love. It represents the three friends that stay ever green during the winter ( which could represents the hard times) and protect the plum tree just in case it blossoms. So that shows us unity.

These are three differnt concepts but the come together and show us how we has people should be and view the world accordingly.

Look forward for our next blog

Stay safe
